A licensed veterinarian is a professional who has completed their education and training in veterinary medicine, and has been granted permission by the appropriate regulatory body to practice veterinary medicine. This means that they have met all the requirements set forth by the governing board of veterinary medicine in their region or country, including passing exams, completing internships or residencies, and adhering to a code of ethics. A licensed veterinarian is able to diagnose and treat animals, perform surgeries, prescribe medications, and provide preventative care services such as vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures. They are also knowledgeable about animal behavior, nutrition, and overall health management.
